Starting Point
(Understanding Indonesia Needs)
As a highly populated country, ranked fourth in the world, Indonesia stretches over of 2,000,000 km2. The development over last five years has shown that motorcycle is the most preferred and affordable means of transportation. Since 2002, average production of motorcycles in Indonesia can reach as many as 3 million units with 2006 sets the highest 5 million units.
Only 22 % of a population of 220 million has motorcycles while in Malaysia and Thailand the percentage is 30 % - 40 % of its respected population.
In 2005, the government issued a fuel subsidy cut-down policy and is planning to totally lift all fuel subsidies by 2010. Consequently, the demand of motorcycles as an efficient and affordable means of transportation will be increasing.
Kanzen Motor Indonesia (KANZEN) sees this potential as an opportunity. Hence, Kanzen is determined to produce motorcycles designed and assembled by Indonesians only. We believe that Indonesians are the best to understand their own diverse needs. Through a number of research and development combined with continuous innovation by young Indonesian engineers and technicians, Kanzen has proven to be able to meet the needs of Indonesian people.
